How to burn a dessert candle.

First burn
Let the first lighting run two to three hours, until the melt pool reaches the glass. This keeps later burns even.

Trim the wick
Before each lighting, trim the cotton wick to about 5 mm. A short wick is a quieter, cleaner flame.

Never leave it
Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it away from drafts, children, pets, and anything that can catch.

The cup gets warm
The clear cup can become hot. Set it on a stable, heat-safe surface and lift it only when it has cooled.

Not dessert
Candlavera candles look like pastry. They are not food. Do not eat them, and keep them away from anyone who might.

When to stop
Stop burning when about 1 cm of wax remains. Do not empty the cup over a sink or flame.
